Remembrance Ceremonies – 13th November 2011

Sunday 13th November 2011.

This year’s Remembrance Ceremonies will take place at the French Air Force Memorial in York Road, Elvington at 11:oo followed by the Allied Air Forces Memorial ceremony at 12:30 at the Yorkshire Air Museum. 

The well supported ceremony at the French Memorial, Elvington Village, will feature the colourful Parade of Scouts, Cubs, Guides and Brownies, who march through the Village accompanied by their Band, to assemble round the Memorila to observe the two minute Silence at 11am.

The French Air Force will be in attandance, along with the President of Groupes Lourds, the French Veterans Association and the Royal Air Force will be well represented by officers from RAF Linton on Ouse, Fylingdales and Leeming. We are delighted that the Royal Australian Air Force will have a representative at both ceremonies and a Canadian Air Force Officer will join us for the later Service at the Museum’s Station Chapel.
